As I said, my friend’s daughter is planning on moving down here from New England, and thinking about using a moving company to move her furniture. She is on a tight budget, however, and has been asking me for suggestions on coming down here with less expense. She is asking us for advice because she knows that we moved here ourselves on a shoe-string budget.
I’ve suggested that she look into renting a Penske moving truck and having her father and brothers load the truck for her in New England, and have her father or one of her brothers drive the truck down here. Once she got down here, we could rally up some friends to help unload the truck (along with her father and brother,) and she could buy her father and brother plane tickets or rent them a car to return back to New England.
I’ve told her to check out her options at a great Internet website that I found, called www.MovingOrbit.com. It is a good resource for giving her a lot of different quotes on the different options, from renting a full-service moving company to a do-it-yourself rental van. I think that she could make some better decisions by using this website as a resource.
